Ms. Cordell received her double undergraduate degrees in music therapy and music education from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Virginia. Since that time she has completed two advanced degrees; one in psychology from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and another in music therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ms. Cordell has twenty plus years as a clinician working primarily in the geriatric field, but also with a variety of clients in a small private practice. She established the music therapy internship program at Quincy United Methodist Home in Quincy, Pennsylvania and served as its clinical training director for over 12 years. Currently, she is an active member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Indiana Music Therapy (IMT) association and serves on the IMT executive board as their secretary.

in music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and advanced degrees, including a doctorate,
from the University of Kansas. She has worked as a music therapist with children with disabilities, multiple handicaps and severe developmental delays;
adults with mental handicaps; the elderly and terminally ill; and patients with cancer. She has given presentations
at national, regional, and state music therapy conferences and has been pulished in the Journal of Music Therapy and Music Therapy Perspectives. She currently
serves the American Music Therapy Association as Speaker of the Assembly of Delegates, as a member of the Board of
Directors, and as a member of the Executive Committee.
