Music Therapy

Established in 1975, the music therapy program is committed to providing quality education and training that focuses on the current populations served and the interventions used by music therapy professionals in the field. The Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy program is approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

Music Therapy

An established healthcare profession that combines a passion for music with the ability to address physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs or health and wellness care.

Curriculum includes in-depth music therapy methodology and applications, courses in psychology and behavioral sciences, and music academic and performance study.

Board Certified Music Therapists

  • Use music to modify behavior or teach new behaviors, improve functioning, and enhance abilities and quality of life
  • Provide interventions for children, adolescents, adults or the elderly with all types of disabilities
  • Involve clients in singing, instrument playing, receptive listening, creating, and moving
  • Plan and implement individual or group treatment based on assessment of patient or client needs
